Toyota Technological Institute at Chicago
The research of today will fundamentally reshape the way people live, work, and play tomorrow. At the Toyota Technological Institute at Chicago, our mission is to bring together the world's leading computer scientists and the world's most promising students, to imbue them with a spirit of limitless possibilities, and to give them the resources to explore and challenge the foundations of computer science.
Future Facility
The number of faculty and students continues to grow as TTI-C grows, so the facilities in the Press Building will not meet the future space needs. A move is planned for September 2008, to the Illinois Bell Building at 6045 South Kenwood Avenue (approximately two blocks southwest of the Institute's present location.)
The Illinois Bell Building is property owned by the University of Chicago, and has been vacant for numerous years. The University is undertaking a gut rehab of the building at this time, and TTI-C has signed a lease agreement to occupy the top two floors for the next fifteen years. The institute will build out its own space according to future needs. The usable space will be almost three times the current amount, and the center of the space will be an atrium through which walkways and stairs will connect the two floors.
