Professor Kakade received his B.A. in Physics from the California Institute of Technology in 1997 and his Ph.D. from the Gatsby Computational Neuroscience Unit affiliated with University College London in 2003. He spent the following two years as a Postdoctoral Researcher at the Department of Computer and Information Science at the University of Pennsylvania.
Professor's Kakade research focuses are in artificial intelligence and machine learning including probabilistic inference, reinforcement learning, computational learning theory, and online learning and their connections to other areas such as game theory, economics, finance, and statistics.
