It was with great pleasure that we opened the doors to TTI-C on September 29, 2003. Our new Institute, located on the University of Chicago campus, will endeavor to achieve international impact in fundamental computer science research and education. We focus on an interdisciplinary approach to research in computer science, in order to attain results with broad cross-area implications.

Our location in the city of Chicago and specifically on the University of Chicago campus further adds to our knowledge and research base. Our collaboration with the University of Chicago faculty, courses and resources promotes an exciting exchange of ideas and opportunities. Furthermore, the city of Chicago is home to several research universities and boasts a growing technology sector.

TTI-C has a strong core of faculty that will eventually grow to thirty members. Our distinctive program of short-term faculty positions and visiting professors provides a dynamic influx of fresh minds and new ideas, and exciting learning and research opportunities for students and faculty alike.
